膨润土防水毯，是一种防渗漏的土工合成材料，主要用在人工湖泊水景、垃圾填埋场、地下车库、楼顶花园、水池、油库及化学品堆场等地。由高膨胀性的钠基膨润土填充于特制的复合土工布和无纺布间，通过针刺法制成的膨润土防渗垫，可以形成许多细小的纤维空间，使膨润土无法向一个方向流动，当遇到水时，垫内便形成均匀高密度的胶状防水层，可以有效地防止水渗漏。

  　　膨润土防水毯防水具有以下几个方面的特点：             

          1.密实性。钠基膨润土在水压状态下形成了高密度的横膈膜，当厚度约为3毫米，透水性在&×10ˉ11m/sec以下时，与100倍的30厘米的厚度粘土密实度相当，有着非常强的自保水性能。             

          2.永久防水性。钠基膨润土属于天然无机材料，即便过了很长时间，亦或是周边环境发生了变化，也不会出现老化或腐蚀等现象。             

          3.施工简易、工期短。较与其他防水材料，膨润土防水毯施工较为简单，无需加热和黏贴。只要通过膨润土粉末和钉子、垫圈等进行连接与固定。施工之后，不需特别检查，若发现防水缺陷，维修起来也很容易。             

          4.不受气温的影响。即便是在寒冷的天气里，也不会出现脆断等现象。             

          5.一体化。指的是，防水材料与防水对象的一体化，当钠基膨润土遇到水时，便具有20至28倍的膨胀能力，即便混凝土结构物有震动和沉降的问题，GCL内的膨润土也可将2毫米内的混凝土表面裂纹修补好。             

          6.绿色环保。膨润土属于天然无机材料，不会伤害人体健康，对环境的影响也几乎为零，有良好的环保性能。             

  　　膨润土防水毯应用非常广泛，应用领域涉及人工湖、垃圾填埋场、人工水系、景观湖、景观水带、车库顶板、地下室、水库、河道治理等工程。防渗效果较好，具有施工简单、造价低廉、节约资源、环保无害等性能优点，因此，获得了广大水利绿化建筑单位的好评。
